A strong background in commercial music,
two years (2) performing musical theatre at Sinclair College,
three (3) years performing in the Holland America Line Cruise ship Industry, over ten (10) years Contemporary Church music,
and one year with America Entertainment Productions (AEP),
these musical experiences are part of my
Performing with Samantha Carlson (Jazz) and Kelsey Mira (Pop/Rock/Jazz) add to performance background. In 2018, I have performed two musicals, “Tarzan” (Columbus, OH) and “Wizard of Oz” (three sub. days at CoveDale Theatre, in Cincinnati, OH). Other Jam nights have been at Park St. Tavern (Columbus, OH) and Jazz Central (Dayton, OH).
I started learning Logic X, with my own jazz project since 2016, as well as knowledge of Logic 9 over last 10 years. Knowledge of Sibelius 7.5 is part of background, as well as learning a new Music Notation software, Steinberg Dorico (2.2 current version).
My education started at Wright State, then transferred to Belmont University to finish Bachelor’s degree (Commercial Music w/Percussion performance degree). I went to University of Dayton and Eastman School of music for Graduate study, earning credits transferring to Eastern Kentucky University, where I finished a Master’s degree (M. M.) in General Music.
I completed a Masters of Music in Jazz at
the University of Arkansas @ Monticello.
Applied lessons covered Jazz, Afro-Cuban, and Brazil drumming, while music theory, Improvisation, Pedagogy
and music history were included in the program.
